At 13-14, exit velocity is largely constrained by physical development. The biggest separator between hitters in this age group is rotational strength and swing mechanics, not bat speed trained in isolation. An athlete at 65 mph at 14 who commits to a year of serious S&C development can realistically reach 75-80 mph.

15-16 is the first meaningful separation point. Hitters who dedicated their early teenage years to physical development begin to separate here. A 15-year-old consistently hitting 80+ mph is on a strong varsity trajectory. A 16-year-old at 90+ mph is on a legitimate college-level timeline.
